Soho Photo invites professional photographers and advanced amateurs to apply for membership based on the quality of the work presented at a portfolio review.

A portfolio should be a cohesive body of work representing a single theme or ongoing project. A portfolio should have a single voice and look. A portfolio should contain 10 to 15 images that illustrate the artist's skill as a photographer, the artist's ability to edit his/her work, and the artist's care in preparing prints for exhibition. Prints should be unframed but in all other respects ready for exhibition, i.e. matted. Submissions of books, slides or disks will not be considered. The Gallery's Portfolio Review Committee reviews work once a month (see Portfolio Review page for dates). Please bring your portfolio to the Gallery by 10:30 AM on the day of the review. It can be picked up between 12:30 and 12:45 PM the same day. At that time, a member of the committee will discuss with you the committee's response to your portfolio. A $50 non-refundable fee is required.

Soho Photo offers two categories of membership and exhibition for artists.

MEMBERSHIPS

Local Membership
Full: solo, spotlight and group shows, $375 per year plus a one-time $100 maintenance fee.
Associate: spotlight and group shows, $225 per year plus a one-time $100 maintenance fee.

Student** Membership
Full: solo, spotlight and group shows, $187.50 per year plus a one-time $50 maintenance fee.
Associate: spotlight and group shows, $112.50 per year plus a one-time $50 maintenance fee.
** members enrolled in an institution of higher learning

Members are obligated to share in the operations of the Gallery. There is a wide variety of committees and activities to choose from. Please Download the Membership Application and bring it, along with your portfolio and the $50 to the portfolio review.

EXHIBITION FEES

Solo Shows: $200 for 30 linear feet, exhibition cards, press releases and an ad in Photograph.
Spotlight Shows: $75 for 8 linear feet and exhibition cards.
Group Shows: maximum of two images, $20/one image, $30/two images.
Student Solo Shows: $100 for 30 linear feet, exhibition cards, press releases and an ad in Photograph.
Student Spotlight Shows: $37.50 for 8 linear feet and exhibition cards.
Student Group Shows: maximum of two images, $10/one image, $15/two images.
A reception is held for each exhibition. The cost of refreshments is shared by the exhibitors.
All exhibits run for approximately one month.
